I translate EN->FR fluently for about 10 years and I often need to make isolated corrections in EN articles. Then as these actions are isolated I would avoid to bother other admin for only setting the page 'FOR TRANSLATION' and I can check immediatly if it is ok on the FR page. This experience as a newbie was necessary to understand the process. With the new rights I will be able to prepare on Meta completly the entire articles for translation. I received the translator rights on MediaWiki (see https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Project:Requests/User_rights/Wladek92 ) which have facilitated me to make a lot of translations there (see https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:CentralAuth/Wladek92) and I whish to reconduct the same process on meta. I have not 'prepared' pages for translation since I am not yet an administrator here. Articles I speak of are the messages, the pages I have already translated EN => FR on this site (see=> https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Wladek92) i.e. 10 022 items until now and my global experience is over 60 000 messages with Wikimedia not taking into account ranslateWiki.net over last 10 years. Transltation process is important since it allows rereading of EN text. Several mistakes can then be detected in this original EN text when making the translations: errors of type, anchors no longer accessible on the translated page... So as a feed back I correct the EN text and need to resent it for translation to integrate the result. For example I added an anchor in => https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Strategy/Wikimedia_movement/2018-20/Working_Groups and the translated page (FR in my case) is still not seeing it. If this cycle is shortened, faster will be the coherence between pages and better the pleasure to navigate on Meta.

The EN root pages I have corrected/marked up are those I have set 'for translation' on the Mediawiki, since I have the right there (july) that is a bit less than 400 lines. They may be listed under:

Comment TA is only for marking pages on metawiki for translation and not to translate pages on wikis to each other (like enwp to dewp - this will be either done via manual translation with attribution or Content Translation). Just to make sure that you are requesting the correct thing, can you give some examples of pages you will mark for translation if given the right. @Wladek92:. Oppose ~~I think I had given sufficient time for the candidate to reply, there are 2 pings in total.~~ No demonstrated need and no clue on whether the candidate understand what this right is used here. In addition, the application rationale seems esoteric and arcane. - Thanks 1997kB. Odd way of answering but sorry for not seeing it. I stand corrected and stricken that part.
