request usurpation of User:Kyoko (temp) to User:Kyoko
I am primariy active at English Wikipedia. Someone has been creating accounts on various Wikimedia projects to harass and even impersonate me. I would like to usurp User:Kyoko here, because I want to use my name across all of the Wikimedia projects for consistency, and to prevent further impersonation.
I will post confirmation of this request on my w:User talk:Kyoko page.
Please handle this ASAP. Thanks! --Kyoko (temp) 20:14, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
- Confirmation posted at w:User talk:Kyoko. --Kyoko (temp) 20:16, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

- Ooh, good question. Right now I don't think it hurts to leave it around. Thanks for taking care of this so quickly. --Kyoko 20:29, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
- My pleasure, glad to help. Majorly (talk) 20:33, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Notification of usurpation left more than a month ago. Cheers! Madman bum and angel 20:01, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
In preparation of the soon coming SUL I would like to usurp the username "Raymond" as this is my username on my homewiki de.wp and a lot of other WMF projects.
See this diff as approval of the connection between my homewiki and this account on Meta. Thanks in advance for your help. --Raymond de 05:51, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- Please leave him a message on his talk page, and if he don't reply in a month, that username will be usurped. MaxSem 06:27, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

- Thanks a lot :-) --Raymond 13:53, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
Strange one - hijacked Wiki? (done)
No real idea of what to make of this. However it seems as though a closed Wiki (Herero Wikipedia) has been hijacked! I was alerted here (section 1) and given the link to en wp. I have blocked User:Tutunsuz for a couple of weeks really to allow others to take a look at the situation (although it seems fairly clear to me - just not sure what to do about it!).
I'd appreciate views/guidance --Herby talk thyme 14:40, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
- Hm? The database of ho.wp is locked, it's not possible to edit there. And there were no edits for weeks. What do you mean by "hijacked"? --Thogo (talk) 14:57, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
- Looks pretty "open" to me (should be hz.wp - me misreading?) here (if only due to "cleaning"). The user I blocked was adding info about the wiki here (having hijacked it). I did say it was strange --Herby talk thyme 15:24, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, right. hz is Herero, ho is Hiri Moto (which has also been closed recently). I mixed them up. Yes, the database lock failed obviously... Did you inform some developers already? --Thogo (talk) 18:14, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
- This seems to be fixed meanwhile. --Thogo (talk) 16:02, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Update a few www
Could you update www.wikipedia.org www.wikiquote.org www.wikibooks.org and www.wiktionary.org . They are all just minor edits, exeapt for the last one that needs some reviewing first. Www.wikiversity.org and www.wikisource.org also need an update. --Steinninn 02:59, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
- I just synched wikiversity's page, I'll start on the others. Thunderhead 21:03, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. There was a small error that I fixed at Www.wiktionary.org template/temp. Could you do it again? --Steinninn 21:21, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
- Absolutley :) Thunderhead 22:07, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
- It's still not updated. --Steinninn 23:20, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

- reset
Sorry a delayed report, Wikiquote is updated. As you said, slight changes but it looks nicer :) Thanks! --Aphaia 00:41, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
- I still don't like the look on wikibooks. The All Wikimedia projects in all languages link is out of place. I've made a proposal at /temp for a slightly different look. Also sinked the look of the sister projects section with the other sites. --Steinninn 01:43, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
Action on political groupspeak on the Main page ofthe Foundation?
Recently, I've put a request on the Wikipub page: [1], could somebody take a look, and possibly take action? Much appreciated. Yury Tarasievich 08:34, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
- It's an English Wikipedia issue, and not "Main page of the Foundation". Meta sysopship have no relevance to deal with. Please talk with English Wikipedia people there. Thanks. --Aphaia 08:45, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
- I'll do just that. Thank you! Yury Tarasievich 08:52, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
- It's not the main page of the foundation or the English Wikipedia, but rather the Main page of all the Wikipedias. Cbrown1023 talk 14:37, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
- I'll do just that. Thank you! Yury Tarasievich 08:52, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, I mistook it. Thanks for your correction. Yuri, thank you for noticing us, but the reference you showed is a contribution of your own. I would like to see a third party opinion. --Aphaia 15:18, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
For starters, thanks all for addressing the issue, I had to make quite a trip to get it fixed. :))
As for the "third party opinion", I have only these facts to offer:
- that the term in question is not in any vocabulary yet, AFAIK;
- that it is derisive newspeak used by politicized group;
- that it still needed clarification, as it was used heavily, also on Internet;
- and that my period- and language- related entries in en:wp, few as they are, were not challenged on neutrality or factual basis yet (until now?), while I understand all parties concerned watch that WP segment "like a hawks".
If it's some specific kind of opinion you're asking for, please drop me a line at be:user_talk:Yury Tarasievich. Sorry, I got distracted and wrote nonsense. If you're seeking a specific kind of opinion you'll nicely find it by yourself. Cheers. Yury Tarasievich 08:04, 8 September 2007 (UTC) # corrected Yury Tarasievich 08:08, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
ja:WP:NODA still evading ban
cf. Meta:Requests for help from a sysop or bureaucrat/Archives/2007-08#ja:WP:NODA evading block
It seems still evading.
User:Poorherby should be blocked infinity. It mocks User:Herbythyme and it is a sockpuppet of User:Noda,Kentaro in nine cases out of ten. Then, Talk:Wikimedia Japan should be protected(or semi-protected) infinity because it is vandalized if it was unprotected.--T.Saito(Talk/Contribs/Mail) 22:39, 18 September 2007 (UTC)(modifired--T.Saito(Talk/Contribs/Mail) 05:30, 19 September 2007 (UTC))

Edit war in Proposals_for_closing_projects
There is edit war in Proposals_for_closing_projects, when some people want to close discussion which for a long time has no consensus. Can somebody help with it? --Yaroslav Zolotaryov 13:50, 19 September 2007 (UTC)(modifiered--T.Saito(Talk/Contribs/Mail) 09:04, 20 September 2007 (UTC))
- Done Please see Talk:Proposals_for_closing_projects#Protection for more information. xaosflux Talk 01:11, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
- From what I've been reading, Yaroslav Zolotaryov has been actively editwarring on the page to get the protection in place to exacerbate his opposition to the closing of ru-sib:w. I find his actions extremely inappropriate here.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 21:43, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
- Proposals_for_closing_projects has been unprotected by Nick1915.--T.Saito(Talk/Contribs/Mail) 17:52, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Help for implementing translations on Quechua wiki projects
I am an active user with sysop rights on qu.wikipedia.org and translating the interface into Quechua. But I am not able to edit the wiki software directly. I'd like to have the following settings changed for all existing Quechua projects:
/* private */ $wgNamespaceNamesEn = array( NS_MEDIA => 'Midya', NS_SPECIAL => 'Sapaq', NS_MAIN => '', NS_TALK => 'Rimanakuy', NS_USER => 'Ruraq', NS_USER_TALK => 'Ruraq_rimanakuy', NS_WIKIPEDIA => $wgMetaNamespace, NS_WIKIPEDIA_TALK => $wgMetaNamespace . '_rimanakuy', NS_IMAGE => 'Rikcha', NS_IMAGE_TALK => 'Rikcha_rimanakuy', NS_MEDIAWIKI => 'MediaWiki', NS_MEDIAWIKI_TALK => 'MediaWiki_rimanakuy', NS_TEMPLATE => 'Plantilla', NS_TEMPLATE_TALK => 'Plantilla_rimanakuy', NS_HELP => 'Yanapa', NS_HELP_TALK => 'Yanapa_rimanakuy', NS_CATEGORY => 'Katiguriya', NS_CATEGORY_TALK => 'Katiguriya_rimanakuy' );
At the moment, entering English forms like User:AlimanRuna you are redirected automatically to the Spanish names (Usuario:AlimanRuna) for the name space prefixes. Is it possible to have automatic redirects from the Spanish as well as the English versions? e.g. both:
- User:AlimanRuna --> Ruraq:AlimanRuna
- Usuario:AlimanRuna --> Ruraq:AlimanRuna
Once the translation on qu:Special:Allmessages is complete, it should be implemented on qu.wiktionary.org and qu.wikibooks.org as well (as it is not working there now).
Thank you in advance -- AlimanRuna 11:08, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
- To change project settings you should ask a developer on Bugzilla, for translations modify MediaWiki file MessagesQu.php or look at Betawiki. --.anaconda 11:21, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

This user has been vandalising persistently. Please block for a period that seems necessary. Or was a warning needed first...? If so, please direct me towards the appropriate warning templates that should be applied. Anonymous DissidentTalk 09:23, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
