Hi!
I'm an administrator on the german wikipedia. Most notably I take care of the spam blacklist. For the same reason I've been temp meta admin for the last 8 months (see Meta:Requests for adminship/wiki_seth and Meta:Requests for adminship/lustiger_seth).
I want to continue helping with regexps, especially concerning the sbl. So I'm requesting permanent adminship now. -- seth 16:05, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Support - Per prior consensus at Meta:Requests for adminship/wiki seth and Meta:Requests for adminship/lustiger seth, per help with spam blacklist, user is also already trusted with this capacity here on a temp basis and at de.wiki. Thanks for agreeing to help out in this added capacity. Cirt (talk) 16:38, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- I haven't seen much of Seth, mostly because I don't feel comfortable working with spam. I'll wait to see what those people who work with him think before making a decision. Majorly talk 16:42, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Support per consensus at the previous RfA here. Great work with the spam blacklist. Cheers, Razorflame 18:31, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Support. He knows what he's doing and does useful work on the spam blacklist. --Erwin 19:54, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Support, per Cirt. Thanks for helping. —Dferg (talk) 17:51, 28 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- I'm sorry, SBL work isn't just optimizing & fixing our regexes, which is your main contribution to date. You don't even appear on Erwin's SBL stats, and I don't see you doing anti-spam cross-wiki. I'd really prefer to see you do some real anti-spam work before getting permanent adminship. I'm sorry, but that's an Oppose. — Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 00:24, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- That somehow confuses me. Of course I don't do very much of x-wiki anti-spam work (Anyway, it's more than nothing). And I won't be able to spend (relatively) more time in future. But I thought that any help is appreciated. One thing I do here is to look over the sbl additions, because nobody's perfect and quite often there are wrong entries. Of course I could have requested another temp adminship, but I didn't want to be annoying with RfAs every 6 months... -- seth 09:45, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Sorry, it's not about whether any amount of help is welcome, it's about whether you need the sysop tools. I simply don't think you do - not for the amount and type of work you do. Temp adminship is intended precisely for that niche. I find it surprising that "I do not plan to contribute except to this limited area and I do not even plan to do more work in that limited area" is being received so well. Perhaps I am out of touch. — Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 21:26, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- I'm a bit puzzled about this one. I'm very new to spamlistworking, and it may well be that there are some script/bot thingys here that I'm not aware of yet. But based on the number of spamlistadditions and in particular the lack of involvement in COIBot reports I can't really see why Seth needs sysop. access on Meta. Confused between an oppose from what i can actually see from the logs and a support as Erwin finds their contribs useful I'm just leaving a comment. Finn Rindahl 00:26, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- I did not explicitly close much COIBot reports (maybe 10? don't know), but thought that "any help was welcome". -- seth 09:45, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Yes, of course any help is welcome :) The point I tried to make in my comment was merely that I can't really see, based on activity, why you need sysop.-rights to give this help. Finn Rindahl 11:09, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Without the sysop rights one can't edit the SBL. -- seth 11:51, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Support For he's a trusted sysop on dewiki, one of the largest WM projects, there is no reason not to make it a permanent sysopship here as well. Any edits on the BLs are highly welcome and appreciated. --Thogo (talk) 09:27, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Support per previous RfAs. –Juliancolton | Talk 18:44, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Support per previous RfAs and general approach. Note: I get Mike.l's point and it's valid, but I am in the camp that holds if Seth is willing to help, even a little, it's a net positive. Plus why keep giving temps? ++Lar: t/c 19:57, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
