Wpedzich is someone every Meta regular knows. A steward and translator, he's always helping out here, even with a baby to attend to. However, despite his high levels of awesomeness, he is not an admin. Just today he asked for a meta sysop to help him make some fixes to centralnotice. He's well-known, a trusted member of the community, and as a steward and translator he does often need the tools. Here's a self-nomination message I was compiling before an editconflict with Shanel - let it serve as my confirmation. Being an active Polish Wikimedian as well as a Wikimedia Steward I fully appreciate the meaning of Meta as a cross-project coordination site. Being available via IRC on a daily basis allows me to react quite quickly to problem situations when they arise. Since Polish is a complex language, I strongly feel that language matters requiring an administrator's intervention ought to be performed by a person who understands the language - the recent translations and implementation of the 2008 Fundraiser centralnotice are a good example - especially since the notice became displayed on non-Wikipedia projects, creating linguistic havoc in inflected languages.
