Greetings. I will admit I'm not the most active user on Meta, but that said, having consulted two admins before this request, I'd like to be bold and request adminship. I intend to work primarily against spam and LTAs through RC patrol and by using SWViewer, especially at odd times when there are few sysops around to deal with abuse. I also intend to help out with translations in Indian languages of which I have some knowledge. Globally, I'm a global rollbacker, though I'm not a sysop at any wiki. Thank you! - Support I have received private requests from this user multiple times, which they could fulfill themself, and reading their userpage, they could benefit from access to private abuse log details as well. I don't quite understand the translation bit (unless you are requesting translation administrator as well), but the language knowledge is in my opinion another reason to believe JavaHurricane would be a helpful addition to the admin team. ~~~~
User:1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 16:51, 10 July 2021 (UTC) - Hmm, would abuse filter helper suit your need better? Still, Support. Leaderboard (talk) 17:12, 10 July 2021 (UTC)

- Question: why aren't you an admin at a content wiki? That is usually one of our preferences before letting people loose at this wiki with admin tools, especially admin tools that have global impacts. How can we have an understandig of your approach with that? The areas where you say that you are going to do work do not require admin tools, so I am not certain why you are seeking admin tools. I have seen you enter into revert wars with trolls. I have seen your requests for blocks of IP addresses that are ill-advised, concatenating an LTA user and an IP address that is abused, so I am not certain that you have a clear understanding of IP blocks and their misuse nor the use of tools to understand what it is being faced. At this point I am Oppose due to this lack of content wiki administration experience. — billinghurst sDrewth 12:48, 11 July 2021 (UTC)
- Support Would be a net positive with admin tools. To address Billinghurst's point about adminship on content wikis, I don't think this is a reason to oppose adminship. We have a few administrators here on meta with no administrative experience on other projects. They have made valuable administrators here. So Billinghurst's first comment, "why aren't you an admin at a content wiki?", is a bit irrelevant, in my opinion. I trust JavaHurricane so I'm supporting. --Ferien (talk) 09:37, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose Concern on revert war with trolls and ill advised IP blocks doesn't put me in confidence that they are ready for sysop tools. Admin experience at content wiki is preferred to know that how someone handle situation on content wiki as meta adminship offer tools that can affect those wikis. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 14:43, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose the nomination statement doesn't speak to what will actually be done here; lack of any community adminship is generally a concern I have with these when the use case seems to be dealing primarily with contributors (as opposed to some technical reason) as this request states. If the requester wants to help with translations, or even manage translations this isn't needed. As far the meta functions that admins could use most related to the use case (such as GSBL/GAF) I'd also want to see some project-specific experience before someone uses these powerful tools in a way that will directly impact contributors. — xaosflux Talk 18:01, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose per above. Concerns with experience and lack of admin rights on a content wiki. Would support a future run however. -FASTILY 21:51, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you for your inputs everyone. Unfortunately, due to serious problems arising IRL, I fear I may be unable to contribute effectively to Wikimedia projects in the near future. Therefore I'm withdrawing my RfA. Thanks. JavaHurricane 05:57, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
