Learning patterns/Event app for conferences
What problem does this solve?
[edit]In large conferences with over 100 participants, it is not always possible to meet all participants and encourage conversations with all people. It is possible that one misses meeting people she/he intended to meet. Some people might know each other virtually, but might not be able to recognize each others' faces. As a result, many people do not get the conference experience and networking they intended to have.
What is the solution?
[edit]Create a conference app with details of participants on it! The participants should be given the choice to opt out of the app, if they request to do so. The app may contain basic details about the participant, such as, photograph, e-mail id, website, Wikimedia username and nationality. It should be possible for the participants to set their privacy levels on personal information. The app could also contain general information about the conference, maps of event locations and notifications for housekeeping messages.
Things to consider
[edit]- The app should be compatible for most of the popular mobile operating systems.
When to use
[edit]This app could be of use in large conferences were interaction between all participants among each other is difficult. The app will help the participants to find people with similar interests and know them before the start of the conference.
