The United Nations dedicates days and weeks to commemorate events or raise awareness and action on issues of universal importance. There are 185 International Days, which are adopted to promote different causes and are celebrated on dates agreed by the UN General Assembly.
International Days are a celebration and promote awareness-raising activities on the theme of the day. They bring together diverse actors such as civil society, the education sector, governments and other entities. With the International Day Editathon we want to give more space to all these causes on Wikipedia. We propose an online and multilingual editing challenge to improve the contents about International Days on Wikipedia in Spanish, Catalan, Basque, Galician, Asturian and Portuguese. Help us to increase the information and visibility of these topics in the free encyclopaedia, so that they reach more people. Participate between 11 and 25 June by creating or improving articles.
