Add topicQuestions about your proposal
[edit]Dear Anita Braga,
Thank you for this proposal. We would be happy to support this event, which is strongly in line with the Knowledge Equity aim of our movement strategy. Because you are experienced editors and organizers, I trust that you already very familiar with what it takes to make an event of this kind successful, but it would be helpful if you could answer these questions to confirm your plans:
- How do you plan to track the participants' contributions? Please consider using the Outreach Dashboard to track the contributions of the participants. (You can also use the Training section of the Outreach Dashboard to learn more about how to plan and carry out edit-a-thons, though you may not need it given your experience).
- Will you prepare any list of suggested articles/items for the events? If so, could you please provide the list of articles you intend to work with?
- Once you have an on-wiki event page, can you please update the link on the grant proposal page?
- Could you please confirm that all produced materials will be shared under Creative Commons licenses compatible with Wikimedia projects?
Thank you for your work to create a more inclusive space for BIPOC, women and nonbinary editors.
Warm regards,

- Dear Marti (WMF),
- Thank you, we at Wiki Editoras Lx were touched by your kind words and trust. We are also grateful to you for the relevant and useful questions. Please find below our answers:
- * How do you plan to track the participants' contributions? Please consider using the Outreach Dashboard to track the contributions of the participants. (You can also use the Training section of the Outreach Dashboard to learn more about how to plan and carry out edit-a-thons, though you may not need it given your experience).
- Exactly, we had planned to use the Outreach Dashboard, as we did in previous events. We will explore the training section anyway, there’s always something more to learn.
- Following your suggestion, we took the opportunity, created it already and updated the link on the grant proposal page.
- * Will you prepare any list of suggested articles/items for the events? If so, could you please provide the list of articles you intend to work with?
- Vanessa Sanches, the co-founder and CEO of Bantumen - a black lusophone media platform -, will be our curatorial specialist, the main responsible for creating a list of suggested articles/items for the event. She will base her suggestions on Powerlist100, a list of 100 black lusophone personalities, published in 2021 - a joint effort between Bantumen and four other black media/cultural/educational platforms from lusophone countries - Balai CV (Cape Verde), No Balur (Guinea-Bissau), Inventivos (Brazil) and Mundo Negro (Brazil). Vanessa is also part of our editor’s group, Wiki Editoras Lx, and so she already has some experience editing wikipedia.
- The organizers of the event, as experienced editors, will make sure that the articles to be created will follow the Wikipedia guidelines, namely assuring that there are reliable sources to support the articles’ creation.
- Traditionally, we prefer to reveal the articles’ list to the participants on the day of the edit-a-thon, so we’ll add it to the dashboard some hours before the event starts.
- * Once you have an on-wiki event page, can you please update the link on the grant proposal page?
- Thank you again for the suggestion, it’s done and the link is updated on the grant proposal page.
- * Could you please confirm that all produced materials will be shared under Creative Commons licenses compatible with Wikimedia projects?
- Yes, we´ll make sure that every graphic design and photographic material will be under CC licenses. And we will upload them on Wikimedia Commons, so they can be used in all Wikimedia projects.
- Please feel free to ask us anything else that you consider relevant for analyzing our proposal.
- Warm regards,
- Anita Braga (talk) 19:37, 28 March 2022 (UTC)
