Grants talk:Project/Rapid/UG BAK/Wiki meetups in Bashkortostan

Hi Dina1965. Thank you for this grant request. We are happy to continue to support the growing Wikimedia community in Bashkortostan. We have a few questions before moving forward with the request.

1. We understand your interest in doing outreach activities outside of Ufa. However, we advise you to only do activities where there is at least one local experienced Wikimedian who can follow-up on trainings or events in a mentorship capacity. We have found that when editors go to cities where there are no Wikimedians, do a one-day training, and then return home, participants do not normally stay engaged. Alternatively, if you can commit to going to a couple of cities multiple times over the 6-month period, that may be a good pilot.

   We plan to organize recurrent meetings in Ufa, Sibay and in the Burzyansky district. In these locations, there are active participants who are capable to assist the newcomers. Also, Rustam Nuriev ans Zufar Salikhov plan two or three visits to Sibay and to Burzyan. Also, we would like, on one or two occasions, to bring active participants from across Bashkortostan - from Sibay, Neftekamsk, Beloretsk, Sterlitamak, Kumertau, Oktyabrsky, Burzyan and the Davlekanovsky district - to Ufa for discussions and training. These locations are quite far from Ufa, and it is not practicle to try to make it a one-day trip. Whenever we can, we will ask the participants to find accommodation in Ufa at their relatives or friends. However, this is not always possible, so sometimes to need to cover the accommodation expenses for some of the participants. --Рөстәм Нурыев (talk) 05:49, 25 August 2016 (UTC)

2. We typically do not fund much swag for community meet-ups, such as t-shirts, souvenirs, etc. We are happy to provide a limited budget for a few small items.

3. #7 and #8 both list personal income tax of $258. Is this correct or should it be only listed once?
