Application received

[edit]

Hi, RightCowLeftCoast and DrMel, thank you for submitting this new rapid grant request. We have received a high volume of requests, which may delay our review. We appreciate your patience and will respond to your request as soon as possible. In the meantime, here is one comment:

  • We've been encouraging all our grantees to scale back on t-shirts. We have recognized that they are high-cost items with low-impact and are also not as inclusive as other items, since you're limited in getting specific sizes for participants. Please consider replacing this item in your budget with some other form of swag that is both lower cost and more inclusive (pins, stickers, water bottles, mugs, etc.).
  • If you choose to keep t-shirts in your budget, please specify how many you plan to purchase and to whom they will be given (i.e., all participants, volunteers/organizers only, a handful given as prizes to top contributors in an edit-a-thon or contest).

Please check this page for additional comments and questions as we review the application and please feel free to reach out to us with questions; we are here to help with a successful grant application! Best regards, LSmith (WMF) (talk) 22:09, 15 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the quick reply! Per your comments, I’ve tweaked the wording in our budget proposal. We have a detailed analysis on best practices for getting maximum value from swag - I’d be delighted to discuss sometime. In the meantime, we look forward to your review! Thanks very much. Grant request approved

[edit]

Hello, RightCowLeftCoast and DrMel; thank you for submitting this grant proposal and for making the adjustments that were requested. We are approving your request. Regards, MMontes (WMF) (talk) 22:52, 1 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

@MMontes (WMF): We appreciate your notification of the approval. Please let us know if there is anything, other than the final grant report, that needs to be done in the mean time.--RightCowLeftCoast (talk) 23:19, 1 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
Howdy, @ @MMontes (WMF): and other grantors .. {not seeing a Talk page so perhaps Meta pages have none}. Is there a section on here, separate url, etc for transparent visibility (in the spirit of Wikipediaeic openness), into Wikimedia Grants, on what they were spent so far, $ balances remaining, & so forth? Our Jun1 through Oct 2019 grant has $700 of $1980 remaining, prompting my curiosity as a Member. Thank you! From Peter, aka Vid2vid (talk) 20:18, 5 September 2019 (UTC).Reply

Grant extension

[edit]

@MMontes (WMF): Is it possible that we can extend the grant until the end of October 2019? This way, if there are any remaining funds after the wiknic, we can utilize those funds to support the events planned in October.--RightCowLeftCoast (talk) 23:48, 22 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

@RightCowLeftCoast: We are approving this extension. Regards, MMontes (WMF) (talk) 23:54, 22 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
Hello RightCowLeftCoast. Please note that the submission date for the final report has also been extended to 30 November 2019, or 30 days after the new end date for this grant project, on 31 October 2019. If you have any further requests, please contact rapidgrants(_AT_)wikimedia.org. Thank you! Cheers, Morgan Jue (WMF) (talk) 20:01, 6 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
@MJue (WMF): Thanks for the notice of change of reporting date. As this will be my first grant to report for, I will seek the help of @DrMel: and others. Thanks for the support thus far.--RightCowLeftCoast (talk) 17:06, 14 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
