[edit]Hi, Ngozi Osadebe, thank you for submitting this final report and your expense documentation. I have accepted your expense documentation, and have edited this report to reflect the correct amounts in the Transportation and Gift Items categories, and the correct totals.
- Congratulations on such a successful event! It is exciting to see that you exceeded your goals in all categories except one. That is a wonderful achievement and I imagine you and the whole group are proud.
- The difficulty you had with moving articles out of sandboxes is fairly common. Your idea of having participants set up their accounts and edit articles before the event is one way of working around this issue. It is also fine to set lower targets for the number of articles you anticipate creating or editing if you know your group of editors will include many newbies.
- Having an experienced Wikimedian to help is also a great way to deal with this issue (and a good resource in general), and I'm glad that Masssly was able to help last year and Olaniyan Olushola has agreed to help this year.
- However, in the long run, it would be more sustainable to build capacity within your local group of Wikimedians so that an outside expert is not needed. Have you considered ways of doing this?
- Your report states that you have 3,940 NGN in remaining funds but I wanted to check whether this is correct.
- You forwarded an email stating that you received only 680,000 NGN of your grant funds (the difference likely due to bank fees and/or exchange rates).
- You spent 681,060 NGN on this grant, meaning that if you received 680,000 NGN you do not have any remaining funds. Please confirm that that is correct, or explain why you have remaining funds.
I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the items above! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi. Lindsey. Thank you for reviewing and accepting our report. I have learnt a lot working with you reviewing the report. Next time we will do better. I have noted all the points you raised and they are all to our benefit. In terms of building our local capacity to manage our events, we have formed a team of four, made up of myself, Victoria Okafor, Ezi Njoku and Delight Udochukwu with the responsibility of mastering the Wikipedia training module. If four of us should continue the training on Wikipedia editing with the zeal with which we did it in 2018, in a little while I do not think we will still need outside help much.
We have NGN2,281.78 in the account. There should have been no money in the account but the Nigerian banking system requires that a small amount must remain in the account. Thank you very much for standing behind us. Ngozi Osadebe
Report accepted
[edit]Hi, Ngozi Osadebe, thank you for your response and for your patience while I was out of the office.
I am happy to hear that you are already thinking ahead to building your group's local capacity and have selected a few people to train and become experienced editors.
Thank you for also explaining that you have 2,281.78 NGN left in your account. Just so I understand correctly, even though those funds remain in the account you spent all of the grant money, correct? We simply need to know for our records whether any money for the original grant was unspent.
I am now accepting this final report. I have already accepted your expense report so once we clarify my question above about the remaining funds this grant will be complete.
Many thanks for all your hard work on this grant! LSmith (WMF) (talk) 18:13, 17 April 2019 (UTC)
Hi, LSmit, thank you for accepting our report. We spent all the grants funds.
Ngozi Osadebe,
