Hi Ndahiro derrick, thanks for submitting this proposal. We are excited that you plan to run the Wiki Loves Earth contest in Rwanda!

  • We now require all grantees to announce their projects and receive the community feedback in advance. Could you please announce this project and grant on the relevant community pages on the target wiki(s)? Community notification may be most appropriate on a village pump, talk page, or mailing list. Please paste a link into the proposal page to where the relevant communities have been notified of this proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions.
  • Please confirm that you understand that grantees, judges, and other contest leaders are ineligible to receive prizes. Grantees who are serving as judges may not receive gifts through grant funding.
  • You have already organized the Wiki Loves Earth contest in 2020. What will you do differently this time?
  • Do you have any official list of protected areas in Rwanda that you’ll be using for this campaign?
  • Please respond to question #5.

Looking forward to hearing from you. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 10:10, 20 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello, DSaroyan (WMF), Please the response to the above questions below;

  • 1. Announcement of the WLE 2021 Contest in Rwanda has been made on our User Group metapage and whatsapp platform that we usually use to communicate with all community members. but am just wondering how their feed back will be shared
  • 2. The jury process will be done by independent professional photographers who are not part of the organizing team.
  • 3. Here is the list and we intend to improve it , https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Protected_areas_of_Rwanda
  • 4.This time round ,we intend to engage more participants and capture many places since the lockdown measures have been eased in Rwanda. and having planned to have edit-a-thons we hope the issue of improper categotization wont be faced again. Hi Ndahiro derrick, thanks for your response.
3. I've seen this list in your proposal. But my question was about an official list. Aside from the Wikipedia list, do you have any official list of protected areas in Rwanda that you plan to use? --DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 10:43, 21 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
