Hello, -jem-, thank you for submitting this comprehensive report and for all your hard work put into developing this tool. It’s great to hear that with this tool you were able to automate and improve over 40 articles; surely, more will come in the future! We’re also grateful that you will maintain it and contribute your volunteer time to make fixes and add new features.

  • Are you considering having the interface translated into more languages?
  • Furthermore, is there a way for other volunteers to request to add new tables or Wikimedia projects into your tool?

Thank you again for creating this tool! I have accepted your final report and expense documentation. This grant is now complete. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 04:35, 20 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello, DSaroyan. and thanks for your support. About your two questions:
  • Translations: Yes, I plan to add them in the future, as requests to use the tool come in from projects in other languages. I haven't started with any because of lack of time and because I haven't decided yet which would be the best option, and I don't want to work in one direction and then have to undo it and switch to another... so far, I've used direct translations in the code and common centralized translations for tools and bot modules in a simple text file with a web interface for the update (which I should review and improve), but I could also consider Intuition in Toolforge and even Translatewiki. Each system has its advantages and disadvantages, and everything will depend on my perspectives for future developments, on the coordination I may have with other developers, on the interest I see coming from other languages, on suggestions from users or even the WMF, etc.
  • New requests: Currently this is possible by contacting me through the link to my user page, but yes, it is convenient to invite more clearly and facilitate requests, not only for new project tables, but also for bug corrections or suggestions for improvement. As a result of what I have also stated in the precisions management tool, my first option for this is a common web interface for requests for all my tools, complemented with indications from pages in Meta; I will be addressing it as part of that project, or in any case in not much more time.
Thanks again and regards, -jem- (talk) 14:09, 24 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
Hi, @-jem-: thanks for your thoughtful responses. I'll soon review your responses to the precisions management tool too, so we can go forward with that grant request! Cheers, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 15:46, 24 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
