Discussion regarding the WM ZA/Gauteng meeting grant. LouriePieterse 09:40, 12 June 2012 (UTC)
Location of the meeting
[edit]Could you provide an information about the venue of the meeting? Is it somewhere in the middle Guateng and Cape Town? Is it a hostel or hotel? What is the program/agenda of the meeting? Polimerek (talk) 21:30, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
- I agree with the questions raised above. Furthermore, this seems to be a meetup with Wikimedians from more distant places attending, and it therefore needs to have a well-prepared agenda and concrete base to make decisions over some future activities. You also have two meetings in two days with one of them for WLM. Since you list a measure of success to get confirmation of a sponsor, do you plan to invite any of the sponsors on the meeting, or it's simply an internal meeting for the members of Wikimedia South Africa? Best regards.--Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 08:37, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
- We will be meeting at the Wits University Business school in Braamfontein Johanesburg. This venue has been used before by the chapter and we will not be charged to use it. The friday meeting is purely to discuss milestones and plan on outstanding work on the Wiki Loves monuments project. Two of our members (One from GP and One from CT) will be meeting potential gov partners for the meeting during the day then we all meet in the afternoon. On saturday we plan to have a chapter meeting to adress amongst other things, bank account for the chapter and membership structure and fees applicable and planned media coverage for the chapter during heritage month. This will be an open meeting for board members and normal members. I trust that this description is satisfactory.--Thuvack (talk) 21:49, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the response. Sounds excellent to have a meeting with some of the potential partners.--Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 15:21, 15 June 2012 (UTC)

[edit]My opinion is that I understand the budget goals. I understand that in your case, is an important meeting in person, given the difficulties that explain, by internet connection. My thinking was oriented content as accurate about the project will focus on WLM, but it seems useful to others. I feel good, but it would be helpful to state clearly the objectives of the meeting.--Josepnogue (talk) 18:53, 11 July 2012.
GAC members' opinion
[edit]- I think that discussion of sensistive information such as bank account etc. require a private meeting in person. In my opinion, this grant may be funded in full.--Victoria (talk) 10:43, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
