Grants talk:PEG/User:Dimi z - WMBE/Start-up Grant - WMBE/Report
Add topicThank you for this grant report and congrats on getting WMBE up and running! We're happy to hear that there was such a good response from government institutions, the media, and new members, to the founding of the organization. Have you been able to establish a partnership with the Federal Monuments and Archives Agency to work on a content release project?
It is a shame that you had to spend your own money despite having adequate grant funds. Reallocation requests are typically responded to within 2 working days. In future, please feel free to ping me. If you would still like to claim reimbursement for those expenses from the remaining funds, please do so.
Note that we will need the reporting and documentation of expenses to approve this grant request and to ensure your eligibility to receive future grant requests. Alex Wang (WMF) (talk) 03:40, 27 January 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Dimi z and MADe. Just pinging you to make sure you saw the discussion comments. I know WMBE has another open grant request. We cannot move forward with that request until this report has been accepted and expense documentation has been received. Thanks, Alex Wang (WMF) (talk) 18:22, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
- Dear Alex, The Federal Monuments and Archives Agency has been helping us during the start-up phase by providing venues and co-hosting WikiLovesMonuments. They were waiting for us the get founded so we could engage in a deeper relationship. Currently two of our board members - Romaine and Antoine - are working on an image release project. They would like to release several hundreds of century-old images from their archives to Commons and integrate them into Wikipedia articles. Simultaneously, we are working with them as partners to organise a conference in Brussels to unlock the multimedia heritage - i.e. teach institutions how they can safely and legally share their archives online. It is possible that the image donation will be done during this conference. --Dimi z (talk) 08:08, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
