Grants talk:PEG/CMNT/WikipediaMA
Add topicThe project is very interesting and for sure worth supporting. My only question is about providing more precise budget estimation. What there is behind such a vague costs description as "logistics" or "management". Polimerek (talk) 10:19, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
Comment to Polimerek: Sure, we can provide a detailed budget. What I submitted was just a preliminary list. Mohamed Amarochan (talk) 20:19, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
- Please, could you translate the amounts in to $ as well. It's not difficult to understand what exactly is the amount either way, but it would be better and more comprehensible if you use both the currencies.--Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 23:19, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
- The amounts are in MAD & US$ now, thanks Simeonovski. Mohamed Amarochan (talk) 23:29, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
My general opinion on this project is positive, but it would be great to find out more information. How many people from the community of Wikipedians in Morocco will participate in this project? What is the city that will host the conference and the workshop? It's already 23 June which is four days short of the deadline for the project. Do you plan to defer the deadline and how much time you need for it? Best regards.--Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 23:30, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
- Kiril, about the city, it will be in Tangier-Tetouan Region (northern Morocco), as a first stage. The project will be extended to cover all major Moroccan cities. Participants from the local community are mentioned in the "Team Members" section. (sorry for my late answer, I'm outside Morocco right now) Mohamed Amarochan (talk) 15:48, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
- We are in the end of June, yes! The lateness depends on some technical issues (we deleted the the grant status by mistake, so the page was not submitted for weeks). Also there was some commitments with Arabic Wikimedia (you can contact Moushira Elamrawy, Arabic Projects Consultant at Wikipedia, she is aware/part of our project a couple of months ago.)
- The first track depends on universities. But, Universities are in vacation for 3 months! The second track is independent of universities, so we can start with it. Summary: The deadline will be deferred for 3 to 4 months (next academic year). Mohamed Amarochan (talk) 16:36, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
I have found no article about the «Centre Marocain des Nouvelles Technologies (CMNT)» in the English Wikipedia and no information about Mohamed Amarochan in his user page on Meta. Can it be provided? --Perohanych (talk) 18:05, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
- I agree with Yuri, it would be very helpful to us that you can give us this information. Regards, --ProtoplasmaKid (talk) 20:30, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, there is no article about CMNT in the English Wikipedia! Also you will not find any "helpful" information about me on Meta. I'll update these pages as soon as possible. Mohamed Amarochan (talk) 20:54, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Yuri, try googling them _ but results will mostly be in Arabic or French_ and you will find more information related to their activities, for instance, they are partners with Euromed Foundation. Same for Amarochan, most related info are in Arabic, like his Arabic WP page. Rest assured that I have personally met all members, so I can assure that they exist in Flesh and blood :-) They have been a good support to our outreach in Morocco, so far. - Thanks Moushira! I'm satisfied with your answer. --Perohanych (talk) 21:17, 25 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks Moushira! As part of our activities, I would like to refer to our next Wikipedia event, which will be held tomorrow (July 26, 2012), with the participation of Roger Bamkin (Chair of Wikimedia UK), Tyson Lee Holmes (Co-Creator at GibraltarpediA), Zack (Administrator, Arabic Wikipedia). I'll publish a blog post about the event in the few next days.Mohamed Amarochan (talk) 05:37, 25 July 2012 (UTC)
- Nice work, good luck! --ProtoplasmaKid (talk) 04:46, 28 July 2012 (UTC)

Budget details needed
[edit]We're still waiting for details about the budget line items. What is included in logistics, in "management", etc. We cannot proceed without these details. Thanks. Asaf Bartov (WMF Grants) talk 23:38, 16 July 2012 (UTC)
- Details of budget? ok, I'll update the page in the next 24 hours. Mohamed Amarochan (talk) 23:55, 16 July 2012 (UTC)
- Detailed breakdown is available now. Mohamed Amarochan (talk) 18:29, 22 July 2012 (UTC)
- Now it looks rational for me. Except there are some minor mistakes in budget - some positions in table are not converted to USD but there are "000" there - but it is just a minor bug. Polimerek (talk) 22:38, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
- I'm sorry for the mistakes, the budget is updated now. Mohamed Amarochan (talk) 23:51, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
- I have a question, what does the item "Symbolic prizes" cover? Could you clarify? Thanks!--3BRBS (talk) 23:05, 30 July 2012 (UTC)
