Formatting, and a question about activities

Hi Fugi-bis! Thanks for starting this draft proposal :-) The overall rationale that you've stated in the "Project idea" section makes good sense. I've updated your infobox with some new fields (please check that they're correct!), and want to remind you to complete the 3rd and final section of the proposal (using that button at the bottom of the page) whenever you're ready, then mark your final page to status=PROPOSED when you feel it is ready for complete review.

I've got some larger questions about the overall methodology you plan to use for this project, however. Directly creating content yourself (ie writing new lessons for Wikiversity, etc) is not something that Individual Engagement Grants can fund. I'm not sure if that's what you've intended or if I've just misunderstood. If you do plan to use the funding to create content yourself, that would make your project ineligible for a grant. But, if what your project is really about is experimenting with new ways to encourage other people to contribute to Wikiversity, that would be a perfectly reasonable use of a grant. In that case, we would want to know specifically what kinds of activities you would do in order to bring in and encourage more participants...without creating/editing this content directly yourself. To add to what Siko said, I would also like to see if you had the commitment of a university or course who wants to use the platform or documents created. That would demonstrate a desire for content to be created and would also create a focus for the subject. Unlike Wikipedia (where articles get better incrementally) WikiBooks and Wikiversity content is not very useful UNTIL it is finished - and only if it precisely matches the needs of the classroom. Hello Siko and Wittylama. I'm sorry for my delay to answer; I don't have see yours questions; I thought discussion start at the end of draft stage. Really my idea aim to editing intensivily contents and link these in order to incite a chain reaction.

I've thought about involvement of university teachers; I know a few are interested in Wiki conception but at present I don't have contact with them. I can try to contact them.

I know Wikimedia projects are found in volunteer editors; I'm one of them. But I think also that in some cases (like a project that not have just to run) its necessary some kind of encouragement. Best wishes.--Fugi-bis (talk) 18:32, 8 February 2013 (UTC)

Content creation is ineligible

Hi again! Ok, so it seems like you are still thinking that you will directly create content for Wikiversity as part of this project. If that is the case, I will be marking this proposal ineligible later this week - although I see your point that sometimes it might seem necessary to lead by example, that is a clear line we're drawing with these grants. We cannot fund content creation directly. I still think there may be potential for a Spanish Wikiversity where you did other things to encourage and facilitate other volunteers to create content. But as long as doing some of the editing yourself is in the plan, we won't be able to consider this project for a grant. That doesn't mean, of course, that you can't still do the project you have in mind anyway, outside of the Individual Engagement Grant program...it just means we can't fund you to do it.
