Add topicFinalizing this proposal
[edit]Thanks for sharing this draft! I just wanted to let you know that we're hosting a few more IEG proposal help sessions in Google Hangouts and IRC next week, so please join if you'd like to get some extra help finishing your proposal. Once you've completed all sections and are ready to submit it for review, please update its status (in your page's Probox markup) from DRAFT to PROPOSED.
I would particularly encourage you to add some information to your Participants section to share more info about who each member of your team is, what skills they'll bring to the project or what they'll each be doing, etc.
I'm also a little confused about your budget still. You mention "paying the community" at as part of your community engagement plans.... can you please explain a bit more about the "fee for admins" and the "award for the organizer" items in your budget?

- Hi, thanks for your comment. I'm not sure that the proposer saw it, so I'm going to point him this way. In the mean time, I can explain that "fee for admins" means paying the project participants for administrative tasks, such as categorizing the images and putting description pages in order. We did have a discussion about it in our community because several people (including me) feel that it doesn't go well with the idea of a volunteer project, so it's possible to scrap this point. Your thoughts about it would be welcome too. — Yerpo Eh? 17:05, 25 September 2014 (UTC)
- Thx for your feedback. Where should I answer, here or somewhere else? Many of your answers can be found on Village Pump discussion; automatic translate tools do relatively good job from Slovene to English... --ModriDirkac (talk) 17:19, 25 September 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for your response. Our review committee will have a lot of proposals to review, and so for the benefit of people who may not have time to go to read each village pump discussion, responding here is probably a good idea if you are still seeking IEG funding. Please feel free to made adjustments to your proposed budget as the community conversation continues, and let us know when your page is ready for review. It will be a good idea to come back to this talk page regularly during October because the global community and review committee may be posting other questions for you here too. Thanks! - I've updated proposal a little bit. --ModriDirkac (talk) 19:17, 28 September 2014 (UTC)

Moving to a Project and Event Grant
[edit]Hi ModriDirkac, Yerpo, and Pinky sl,
Thanks for the time you've spent on this thoughtful submission so far! Based on an initial read of your proposal, we believe this project would be a better fit for our Project and Event Grants program, which commonly funds WikiExpedition-style projects and photo competitions in countries around the world (not just WikiLovesMonuments!). It seems like most of your expenses are for things that are commonly covered via a Project and Event Grant. However, all of WMF's grantmaking programs have similar restrictions against paying for content contribution, so you would need to consider removing the line-item for paying users to upload and classify photos in order to be eligible for a Project and Event Grant. Assuming you'd like to proceed, my colleague Alex Wang can help you to move your proposal page into a Project and Events Grant, and I expect she will be well-placed to advise on what has worked well for similar photo contest projects in the past, as well as offer some thoughts on the unique challenges you've identified for a smaller communities like Slovenia. I'm updating the status of this proposal to "draft," meanwhile, to allow space for that discussion to move forward outside of the IEG review timeline. Please let us know if you have any questions, and thanks again for your participation! Best wishes, Siko (WMF) (talk) 23:39, 3 October 2014 (UTC)
- Hi ModriDirkac, Yerpo, and Pinky sl. I would be happy to discuss this proposal as a Project and Event Grant (PEG). As Siko mentioned above, we have supported many wiki-expeditions and photos competitions previously with funds for prizes and reimbursement for travel costs. However, we do not provide funds to pay for content contribution. You can copy the relevant information from your IEG proposal into a PEG proposal here: PEG submission. I would encourage you to email me at grants"at"wikimedia.org if you would like to discuss the project in more detail before moving it to a PEG. Alex Wang (WMF) (talk) 00:22, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
Status update
[edit]Hi ModriDirkac, Yerpo, and Pinky sl,
I just wanted to give you a heads up that I'm going to mark your proposal as 'withdrawn' because we've launched a new open call for IEG proposals and I want to make sure that community reviewers don't mistake this idea as a current submission.
Of course, you are welcome to submit new ideas in the current round!
Warm regards, -Marti (WMF) (talk) 22:06, 4 September 2015 (UTC)
