Activities

[edit]

Tell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions:

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?

Training with an edit-a-thon.

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

Series of announcements will be made during lectures/classes. The students' bodies in the university will be engaged since they are in touch with virtually all the students. Also, WhatsApp groups of students will be utilized.

As such, experienced facililators will help bridge the gap thereby exposing and empowering the participants with the required skills to make them active participants and contributors of high quality.

Endorsements

[edit]

Community members are encouraged to endorse your project request here!

  • This is because the event will go a very long way in enlightening the participants on what the basic knowledge of Wikipedia is and to a larger extent boost their hard skills as Wikimedians.

I therefore endorsement this project. Mrniger (talk) 14:25, 9 March 2022 (UTC)

  • I endorse this project because university students need to have a place in Wikipedia projects and its sister projects. As such, the project is timely and will help in creating a community of more editors thereby promoting Wikipedia, especially in the community where such initiative is a dearth. I offer my highest and sincere endorsement to this project for consideration. Ifeanyi55 (talk) 16:38, 9 March 2022 (UTC)

Hamza DK (talk) 19:23, 9 March 2022 (UTC) It's a good idea to introduce Wikipedia to University students, they will have an access to every data they needed.
