- Recruit new editors.
- Engage existing editors to sharpen their editing skills.
- Train selected volunteers on leadership skills to take up leadership roles in future.
Project Plan
[edit]Activities
[edit]Tell us how you'll carry out your project. What will you and other organizers spend your time doing? The fact that in most communities members do not mostly have regular practice of contributing to Wikimedia projects in a group form is not far-fetched, it is also obvious that majority of them do not know the inside-out of the processes involved in executing the projects that they always participate in. It is in light of this that we, as a community deem it necessary to remedy these observations. This is a 3 month duration project that seeks to expand Wikimedia community engagement in Ghana. Time would be spent: Organizing bi-weekly online team meetings. This would take place every other week on Sunday to discuss:
- ongoing projects
- future developments, and support for volunteers.
- Organizing bi-weekly community offline meetups
Every other week on Saturday, the Dallung Wikimedians Community will meet offline to participate in a community activity. It will be an opportunity for people to come in and freely share ideas and learn something new about the Wikimedia projects and how to contribute to it.
How will you let others in your community know about your project (please provide links to where relevant communities have been notified of your proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions)? Why are you targeting a specific audience?
- Community members will get to know about the project via Dallung Wikimedians Community Social media channels; WhatsApp and Facebook.
Phone calls will also be made to take care of volunteers from internet challenged communities.
What will you have done at the end of your project? How will you follow-up with people that are involved with your project?
- We will continue to engage volunteers on our Community WhatsApp group.

- Number of new users engaged/recruited into Wikimedia movement:50
