Project Plan

[edit]

Activities

[edit]

Tell us how you'll carry out your project. What will you and other organizers spend your time doing?

This project is intended to expand Wikimedia community engagement in Ghana for a duration of 3 months.
We would spend time:
  • Organizing bi-weekly online team meetings. This wolud take place every other week on Sunday to discuss:
  • ongoing projects
  • future developments, and
  • support for volunteers.
  • Organizing bi-weekly community offline meetups
Every other week on Saturday, the Dagbani Wikimedians Community will meet offline to participate in a community activity. It will be an opportunity for people to come in and freely share ideas and learn something new about the Wikimedia projects and how to contribute to it.

How will you let others in your community know about your project (please provide links to where relevant communities have been notified of your proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions)? Why are you targeting a specific audience?

Notifications will be posted on:
  • Wikimedia Ghana Usergroup mailing list
  • Dagbani Wikimedians Social media channels: Facebook, Twitter, Telegram
  • Wikimedians of Africa mailing list

What will you have done at the end of your project? How will you follow-up with people that are involved with your project?

Team meetings
  • We would hold 6 team meetings every other week for 3 months, comprising at least 10 team members and project leaders.
  • Online Community meetups with elements of training in them will be uploaded on the Dagbani Wikimedians Youtube channel.
  • Create a virtual avenue to welcome new users, and in the process, expand Wikimedia outreach in West Africa via our community-hours online events

Are you running any in-person events or activities? If so, you will need to complete the steps outlined on the Risk Assessment protocol related to COVID-19. When you have completed these steps, please provide a link to your completed copy of the risk assessment tool below:
