Global reminder bot
Appearance
For most wikis, there has been a bug that would incorrectly report expiration dates in 2025 for those that actually expired in 2024 - see https://github.com/Leader-board/userrights-reminder-bot/issues/2. This has been fixed, but please re-check your expiration date if the reminder was delivered on 24th or 25th of December, 2024 (UTC). |
This is a service (by Leaderbot) that reminds users when their rights are to expire, based on phab:T370842. This is opt-out for wikis that do not have a bot policy procedure or do not require explicit approval and opt-in otherwise. For more details, see the Technical details page.
- The service will remind users once (and only once) when their rights are due to expire in a week's time or less. This may be tweaked later on.
- The service will deliver the message to the user's talk page on the affected wiki. Depending on the user's settings, this can also imply a ping and email as well.
- To exclude a user from this service, go to Exclusion. This bot does not respect any other form of opt-out preference and is not exclusion-compliant.
- Default configuration files are stored in /global (this also includes data for global rights).
- Local (i.e, for a certain wiki) configuration files are stored as a subpage by database name. For enwiki, this would be /enwiki and /frwiki for frwiki; the full list is here. Should an opt-in wiki not have a local configuration file, the global details will be used.
- The internal database is at /database and should normally not be modified.
- Anyone with "WMF" as part of their username is automatically excluded.
- To translate the messages delivered by the service, see the translation instructions.
- The source code of this bot is available.
