Meet Italy - results

Meet Italy is an editing month challenge for Wiki Club's members in the Republic of North Macedonia, taking place from 01 March (00:01) to 31 March 2023 (23:59). It is organized by GLAM Macedonia with support of the Embassy of Italy in Skopje.

During the month long editing challenge „Meet Italy“ there were a total of 836 articles and 50 participants. The awarding ceremony will take place on May 15 (Monday) 2023 at 20:00 at the Cinematheque of North Macedonia, where, as part of the Italian Film Days, the Ambassador of Italy in Skopje will personally and ceremoniously award the awards to the winners. In focus: Italy - results

In focus: Italy was an editorial one-month challenge for students from the Italian Department of the Faculty of Philology "Blaze Koneski" - Skopje, which took place from April 1, 2023 to April 30, 2023. The project was organized by GLAM Macedonia and supported by the Embassy of Italy in Skopje. In Focus: Italy was implemented in order to reduce the lack of articles with Italian music and film topics on Wikipedia in the Macedonian language. All students from the Italian department were welcome to contribute. In the editing marathon, 39 new articles were created by 6 students who created articles on the topics of music and film through time in Italy. According to the jury committee (Snezana Štrkovska, Nikola Stojanoski and Prof. Dr. Luciana Guido Schrempf)

The awards ceremony will take place on May 21 2023 at 8 p.m. at the Cinematheque of S. Macedonia, where as part of the Italian film days, the ambassador of Italy in Skopje will personally and ceremoniously award the prizes to the winners.

Seminars for teachers

On the 11th of May, we held a seminar for teachers in Skopje- Municipalit Aerodrom. 19 teachers successfully attended the seminar in "Gojgija Pulevski" primary school. The main theme of the seminar was "Media literacy and Wikipedia". The keynote speakers on media literacy and culture and Wiki Club in Skopje were Tatjana Gogoska, Master of Communication Sciences, Ana Vishinova The keynote speaker on Wikipedia was Snezana Shtrkovska, president of GLAM Macedonia. At the end of the 3-hour seminar, all participants received a Certificate for successfully completing the seminar. Teacher training is part of the educational program of GLAM Macedonia.

Awards Ceremony from the Italian Ebassy in North Macedonia

On 21.05 in the Cinematheque of North Macedonia had a ceremony awarding prizes and diplomas to the winners of the one-month editing challenges "Meet Italy" and "Focus on Italy" in which members from Wiki club in Macedonia and students from the Italian Department of the Faculty of Philology "Blaze Koneski" - Skopje. The event was part of the Italian film week held at the Cinematheque in Skopje. On the last day of the film festival, May 21, at 8:00 p.m., the ambassador of Italy, Andrea Silvestri, оfficial awarded eleven awards to the winners who made their best contributions to Wikipedia in the Macedonian language on topics related to Italy. During the editing competitions, 875 new articles related to Italy were created on Wikipedia in the Macedonian language. So far, editorial competitions of this type have been successfully implemented with Hungary, Russia, Germany, Sweden and Serbia. The event was organized by the Embassy of Italy in Skopje in cooperation with the association GLAM Macedonia.
