Wikipedia 22
[edit]To mark 22 years of this global movement, we're celebrating all the people who make Wikipedia possible – the volunteers who share their knowledge, the community organizers, the donors who help keep Wikipedia running, the developers who make sure Wikipedia is fast and accessible, and many more. The birthday celebration for Macedonian Wikipedians was held in Pjaca Liberta in Skopje, and 23 Wikipedians added 48 new articles to Wikipedia as a gift for it.
Wiki Club Ohrid
[edit]Wiki club Ohrid as part of GLAM Macedonia, under the mentorship of the native Wikipedian Natasa Nedanoska, coordinator of the club, yesterday on 17.01.2023, together with their students edited Wikipedia articles in the Macedonian language on the premises of Kasarna Hub in Ohrid. At yesterday's workshop, articles were edited, every year, for the fifth time in a row, on the topic of "rare diseases" under the slogan "So that those who know about rare diseases are not rare" for the needs of the We Get to Know Rare Diseases campaign. As a sign of support for people struggling with rare diseases, Wiki Club Ohrid participates and contributes to Wikipedia in the Macedonian language to enrich it with new articles about these rare diseases.
Wiki Loves Living Heritage
[edit]After online meeting about Wiki Loves Living Heritage, GLAM Macedonia members decided to join in 2023 for the celebration of living heritage on the 20th anniversary of the UNESCO 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. Board members and other members started to plan activities for this matter. Several workshops are already planned for 2023. Our member for GLAM activities, Ana Vishinova, started negotiation with the Directorate for protection of Cultural Heritage in Macedonia to get a list of living heritage and to arrange further activities with them.
