Questions to consider in your application

[edit]
  • Will you still come if you receive a partial scholarship or no scholarship at all?

Probably.

  • What are you hoping to achieve?

Learn about new tools, share my skills, hang out with like-minded contributors.

  • What skills are you hoping to learn?

Anything that helps to automate or semi-automate contributing to Wikipedia or Wikimedia Commons. We need to be able to work at scale, particularly on article maintenance.

  • What are you hoping to teach?

A hands-on introduction to AutoWikiBrowser (probably just for browsing rather than changing content, the latter would need a lot more time and be too complex for beginners)

OR

A hands-on introduction to Web2Cit (probably not including using XPath, again too much for a beginnner session)

  • What sessions have you proposed?

As above

  • Will your contributions help Australian First Nations content?

The tools can be used on anything, but I would expect First Nations content to be more bespoke.

  • Will your contributions help Australian content?

Yes, I use these tools all the time on Australian content to edit more efficiently.

  • Are you from a minority group?

Depends how you define "minority"? If being a female Wikipedian is a minority group, then yes. Otherwise maybe not.

  • Are you from regional or rural Australia?

No, a city slicker.

  • Are you a new editor?

No

The program is yet to be decided but current proposed sessions may be found here
