Hello!
- Will you still come if you receive a partial scholarship or no scholarship at all?
- No.
- What are you hoping to achieve?
- Though I've been active on Wikipedia since 2007, I only really started getting involved in real-life Wikimedia activities this year, and I attended ESEAP earlier this year for the first time. This was a rewarding experience, and I managed to connect with quite a few members of the Australian contingent there, with some good outcomes. My hope is to continue networking with Wikimedians based in Australia and grow my network and exchange ideas.
- What skills are you hoping to learn?
- Networking, connecting with local members of the Wikimedia community, learning more about Wikimedia-run events and how they're organised, and about in-person involvement.
- What are you hoping to teach?
- While I'm not currently planning on giving any lectures, I'm keen to provide guidance and talk about my experiences re. all the aspects of editing and administering Wikipedia. I have experience as an admin (Mongolian Wikipedia), editor, contributor to Commons, and developer.
- What sessions have you proposed?
- N/A
- Will your contributions help Australian First Nations content?
- Currently I have no contibutions relating to First Nations content, though I'm very curious about the talk happening around the First Nations focus group report (https://wikimedia.org.au/wiki/First_Nations_Focus_Group_Report) and how it relates to archival/information preservation.
- Will your contributions help Australian content?
- My contributions mostly focus on Mongolia/Mongol-related content, though I try to involve Australia-related things when relevant - for example by writing/maintaining en:Australia–Mongolia relations on enwiki.
- Are you from a minority group?
- I am a Mongolian based in Australia, so yes.
- Are you from regional or rural Australia?
- I partially grew up in Gawler, SA, if that counts!
- Are you a new editor?
- No, I have been active more-or-less since 2007.
