Discussion
[edit]- Oppose. The CentralNotice has been heavily overused recently, and this proposal is for an entire month of banners (including for IPs), overlapping heavily with multiple other campaigns, including the fundraiser and WP Asian Month.
Also, IIUC, the target projects have not been notified, and the guidelines require a comment period of at least seven days, and there are only four days remaining until the proposed start date. --Yair rand (talk) 06:24, 3 November 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Yasir, I understand that CentralNotice has been heavily used recently and my request overlaps with other campaigns during this month. However, this is the first time WikiGap Pakistan has requested such a notice. Also as this campaign is part of the worldwide WikiGap initiative, the dates cannot be changed.
All other means of promotion (online and offline) have been used and this banner is just an additional way. If you need more time for comments and feel a month is too long, my request would be for a two weeks slot instead, either consecutively i.e. 14 to 27 November 2020, or in 2 parts: 14 to 20 November 2020 and 28 November to 4 December 2020. The latter option would help reduce the overlap.
The countries requested have been selected on basis that they either share history and/or culture with Pakistan (eg. Bangladesh and Afghanistan) or host large expat populations (eg. UAE, Saudi Arabia and UK). We would like to target both anonymous and logged in users but if this is an issue, we would accept it for logged in users only. It would be appreciated if the request is granted. Thank you. Khilari&historian (talk) 08:59, 3 November 2020 (UTC)

- Support. Best complements with Women in Asia (Pakistan) campaign. Exec8 (talk) 14:26, 12 November 2020 (UTC)
Hi @Khilari&historian:, please provide for the banner:
- one line of text (50-70 characters at most)
- your landing page
- one or two images to accompany the text.

- So I created a simple banner for you from previous Wikigap editions, preview. I am going to limit the geographical spreading to Pakistan. Please let me know what you think. Ciell (talk) 10:36, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
- can you please use this image: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wikigap-pakistan-2020.svg and this wording, "WikiGap: Help us increase the representation of Pakistani women on Wikipedia!" instead Thanks Khilari&historian (talk) 11:19, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
