Wikitheme
Project Wikitheme is an copyleft on-line thematic catalogue, a catalogue or dictionary of musical themes.
In the real world, there are books called "thematic catalogue," in which short musical motives, usually for the pieces of European classical music, are arranged alphabetically by the composer's name. They usually have solfege indices to allow readers to browse themes by their melodies.
Most of the on-line version of thematic catalogues have only ability to search by melody, not broad in coverage, and does not seem well incorporated. Here is some of on-line thematic catalogues:
- http://www.znet.com/~iwamura/page2.html
The project could be incorporated with WikiScores.
My experimetal site is here - http://puzzlet.dnip.net:8000/~puzzlet/wikitheme/ It uses WikiTeX and GNU Lilypond.

[edit]This seems more like a new way of categorizing content that could already go into Wikisource rather than a new project itself. Angela 00:20, 3 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- Thematic catalogue is a collection of excerpts from musical pieces, which would make the project different from Wikisource in two aspects. If Wikisource incorporates musical sources, it is likely to have musical pieces as whole(like WikiScores,) as Wikitheme is more like the Wikiquote of musical pieces, where we store quotes from musical works. Plus, I'm not sure as I don't know much about legal things, but I think Wikitheme would not suffer copyright issues, because all the contents are merely excerpts. --Puzzlet Chung 01:13, 3 Jul 2005 (UTC)
