  • Title of the submitted proposal: Bringing the Wikisource communities closer together
  • Description: Since 2004-2005, the Wikisource communities are spread across many languages and wikis (80 on 09/2024), which has advantages but also comes with problems. Mainly, it splits our collective voice and collaborative efforts. How could we bring our different communities together to make our work easier and more impactful? Would returning to a single multilingual Wikisource make sense, or how can we collaborate and share more across our monolingual wikis? This will be a hybrid session, with an online portion either integrated with the in-person portion, or happening separately around the time of the conference.
  • Relationship to Wikisource or to the theme:
  • Username of speaker(s): VIGNERON (likely in-person), Mike Peel (likely online), others welcome
  • Session type: Hybrid workshop (partially online, partially in-person)
  • Duration: 1 hour
  • Outcomes: A set of documented ideas and thoughts that can be followed up on-wiki after the conference
