Activities
[edit]Presentation at Wikimania 2018 in Cape Town
[edit]A presentation was given at Wikimania 2018 in Cape Town on how majorities can support minority languages. A video of the presentation is available.
Meeting with the Canadian Commission for the UNESCO
[edit]The Canadian Commission for the UNESCO is highly involved with indigenous languages issues in Canada. The reason of the meeting was to introduce them to the Wikimedia projects and to show them how they can be used for indigenous languages, mainly by showing them the Atikamekw Project as an example. A participation in a planned conference in 2019 about indigenous languages in Canada was discussed.
Publication of a toolbox
[edit]The Indigenous Languages and Knowledge on Wikimedia Projects Toolbox was published on Meta and available for translation. Its aim is to give information to anybody who want to be involved in indigenous languages projects with the Wikimedia projects. It was developed mainly through the lessons learned from the Atikamekw Project.
