Wikimedians of Mali User Group/Reports/2019-2020
INTRODUCTION
[edit]It will be a year since our community of contributors was recognized as a User Group. Since then we got down to work and were immediately stopped in our tracks by illness to Corona Virus COVID 19. Without forgetting that Mali is a poor country and very unstable politically, socio-economically and culturally. But, we were able to do some activities.

- the creation of the Malian association of wikimedian and wikimedean contributors from Mali (Wikimedia Mali)
ACTION PLAN 2020_2021 / SOME MAIN LINES
[edit]We are in the process of developing our 2021-2022 annual action plan. An ambitious program that will take all sectors into account, starting with
- the involvement of our authorities in the recognition of our association and the need to be supported to grow both in quality and in quality
training our members in wikipedia, commons, data, meta ect tools.
- vast campaign to find contributors to the Mali account
- creation of our website
- the establishment of sub-communities in the 20 regions of Mali which in turn will collect data from their localities then proceed to upload sessions
- the thematic contribution workshops
- meetings with foreign embassies in our country for projects between Mali and their country of origin
- meetings with foreign institutions, UN and others, including UNESCO, UNDP, MINUSMA, UNICEF, European Union, USAID, AFD, foundations, NGOs
- Initiation of new projects such as: #wikiwaleursculturelles, #wikimanuscritsanciens, #wikitombouctou, #wikikalan, #wikidonkoNiseko, #wikiangakorolenw
CONCLUSION
[edit]Our community is young and needs structuring, training and support for the projects we initiate. At the moment we do not perceive any help from anywhere apart from the rapid grants to which we are applying to set up competitions and projects such as wiki loves africa, Art plus feminism, WPWP,
