We are the Wikimedia Sustainable Development Group, and we're excited to explore opportunities for collaboration with you! Our group focuses on improving Wikimedia projects on a wide range of topics aligned with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, encompassing everything from environmental issues and gender equality to peacebuilding and economic development. Whether you're a local or regional group aiming to document these topics within your community, or a thematic user group passionate about these subjects, we'd love to connect and discuss how we can work together. Examples of mutual subjects
[edit]Anything environment related
[edit]Many of the Sustainable Development Goals are about the environment. The first topic that comes to mind is climate change and the ecological crisis. Local/Regional groups can document the environmental situation in their context. Thematic groups who want to work on the theory of environmentalism can also improve related articles.
Anti-discrimination and social equality
[edit]Goal 10, Reduced Inequalities, is about creating a more equal world for everyone. So any group that deals with racism/sexism/xenophobia/homophobia/ableism, and any similar oppression dynamic, can find something within the SDG's to work with.
Gender equality
[edit]Goal 5 of the Sustainable Development Goals is "gender equality". Gender related projects can therefore very easily adopt a SDG focus for any events that they organise.
Poverty/Hunger
[edit]Any group who wants to work on documenting/theorising about poverty, hunger, lack of access to water, to healthcare, to housing etc. can find something within SDG's.
Pretty much everything!
[edit]SDG's are very broad, and almost everything with a social focus can be developed within the context of SDG's.
