OA & GLAM

One of the aims of this project is to support RCom in the development of workable policy regarding open access and open data of Wikimedia-related research projects. For initial drafts, see Research:Committee/Areas of interest/Open-access policy and Research:WMF support. The Wikimedia Foundation may also comment on broader developments in Open Access. Test cases for that were the Wikimedia responses to the following triggers: EU Consultation on scientific information in the digital age White House Request for Information on Public Access to Peer-Reviewed Scholarly Publications Resulting From Federally Funded Research Access2Research petition to the White House On January 10, 2012, WikiProject Open Access has been started on the English Wikipedia. Since then, progress in the development of matters pertaining to Open Access and related issues have been reported in the monthly Open Access Reports as part of the GLAM Newsletter, and updates to this page have been discontinued.
