Wikimedia promotion in Lead city university
Lead City University, located in Ibadan, was established in 2005 and has since become a renowned institution known for its diverse range of top-tier undergraduate and postgraduate programs spanning numerous disciplines. The university places a strong emphasis on academic excellence, offers state-of-the-art facilities, promotes research and innovation, supports cultural and extracurricular activities, cultivates a global outlook, and actively participates in community endeavors. It stands as a prominent educational institution in Nigeria, delivering students a comprehensive and enriching educational journey.Despite the advantageous advancements in the university, there is an absolute dearth of editors, not to even talk of projects that seek to promote Wikipedia in the community.
The project's primary objective is to launch the inaugural Wikimedia promotion campaign and training at Lead City University. This initiative is geared toward fostering the growth of new editors and igniting the emergence of dedicated champions for Wikipedia projects. The overarching goal is to enhance awareness of Wikipedia and its associated projects within the university, with the ultimate aim of establishing a solid foundation for the widespread adoption and utilization of Wikimedia products among the student community.
