[edit]- We held a photo scavenger hunt Wikipedia Takes Brooklyn on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the Brooklyn Public Library in the Brooklyn borough of New York City. This event was part of Wikipedia Takes America and Wiki Loves Monuments (off-wiki site), and built on previous NYC Wikipedia Takes Manhattan hunts. The event was also part of a "Wiki Weekend" partnership at BPL with a Sunday session by the Wikiotics Foundation.

[edit]- The chapter conducted its October Meetup event on Saturday, October 5, 2013 in New York City, where we discussed follow up on recent ideas and chapter business.
- An public open house Consumer Reports meetup took place on October 19, 2013 and Wikipedian Bluerasberry hosted the chapter members that visited.
- A "Greenwich Village in the 60s" Edit-a-thon workshop took place on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at New York Public Library's Jefferson Market Library, hosted by the library, Wikimedia NYC and the Metropolitan New York Library Council ("METRO").
- Joined NYC Aaron Swartz Hackathon at Old Pfizer Building on November 8,2013, shared in DIY book-scanning projects.
- An Open History: Queens and Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon workshop took place on Friday, December 6, 2013 at Queens Library's Central Library's Archive in Jamaica, Queens, New York City.
- The chapter conducted its December Meetup on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at the New York Law School in the Tribecca neighborhood of New York City. Follow up on recent events, future events and ideas, as well as chapter business was discussed. We established the organizing committee for the Wikiconference USA 2014 to take place May/June 2014. Also, met with visiting representatives from Wikimedia Deutschland's Chapters Dialogue project.

[edit]- As part of the Wikipedia ArtAndFeminism campaign to improve coverage of women and the arts on Wikipedia, we held the Art and Feminism editathon on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Eyebeam Art and Technology Center in Manhattan, New York City, NY. The twitter hashtag is #ArtAndFeminism. A list of over 400 women who worked in NYC was provided for inspiration. There were about 86 participants in this editathon. About 13 new pages were created, and about 16 pages modified as a result of this event. In addition, three public domain books on 19th century homemaking were uploaded to Wikisource.
- We conducted a Wikipedia Harlem History Edit-a-Thon on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the Harlem Branch of the New York Public Library in Harlem New York City, NY. There were 17 participants and 97 edits with five new articles created.
- An inaugural Innovation Law and Policy Editathon was held on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the New York University School of Law located in Manhattan, New York City, NY. We worked with law professors and activists to create, edit, and improve articles at the intersection of law and innovation. There were 20 participants and nine articles worked on.

[edit]- Supported Wikipedia APA Editathon by Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center at Coalition for Queens on May 10, 2014.
- Supported Digital Invisibles Wikipedia Editathon at Storefront for Art and Architecture on May 17, 2014.
- The main focus in this quarter was the first ever national Wikipedia Conference USA which is positioned in geographical scope between the local/regional and the international Wikipedia conferences. WikiConference USA 2014 took place over a three day weekend at the New York Law School in New York City, NY from Friday May 30, 2014 through Sunday June 1, 2014 for over 28 hours of conference activities. This conference was organized by this chapter (WikiNYC) and Wikimedia DC. The Wikimedia Foundation provided a $35,000 grant, Consumers Report provided a $2,000 grant, and many individuals donated.
- Supported Barclays edit-a-thon on June 12, 2014.
- As part of the global campaign Wiki Loves Pride to extend and improve LGBT related articles across several Wikimedia projects, this chapter, the New York Public Library, the Metropolitan New York Library Council, and Wikimedia LGBT held a short one day editathon at the New York Public Library's Jefferson Market Library on June 21, 2014 as part of Wiki Loves Pride 2014.
