Summer Barbecue
[edit]On July 4, Wikimedia NL organized a summer barbecue for Wikimedians in Eindhoven, with no specific agenda. The meeting was intended for socializing, and was visited by more than 30 people.
European Lobby
[edit]July 18, Wikimedia NL organized a chapters meeting in Brussels with European Legislation Lobby as a topic. Representatives from six chapters and the Wikimedia Foundation participated in the meeting, to get to know each other, each others intentions and to agree on the basics for the lobby. Based on these outcomes and further meetings, a strategy for the legislation lobby will be formed.
Wiki Loves Art
[edit]As reported before, Wiki Loves Art was a success with over 5400 photos submitted. The photos have been uploaded to Wikimedia Commons under free licenses and the winners have been selected from the submitted photos (see WikiLovesArt.nl).
Tropenmuseum
[edit]Wikimedia Nederland and the Tropenmuseum are cooperating on an exhibition on the Maroon culture from Suriname. As part of this cooperation, the Tropenmuseum has made over 2100 photos available through Wikimedia Commons. Content generated through the Wikimedia projects as part of this cooperation might be included in the exhibition.

Translation Rally
[edit]With the financial support (out of the international investments budget) of Wikimedia NL, Stichting Open Progress was able to run another Translation Rally to get MediaWiki translated better in all languages. € 1000 was divided over people with more than 500 valid translations within the week. As a result, 36,000 new translations were added and 36 valid claims were made by translators.
Wikimania
[edit]Lodewijk participated in Wikimania in Buenos Aires, and held a discussion session on European Legislation Lobby. The discussion resulted in a list of potential topics to persue in such a lobby and has been submitted to the chapters as input for the discussion.
