Strasbourg

On May 3, Claude Truong-Ngoc was invited to attend the European Bioethics Forum scientific council. He presented Wikimédia France's aims to the council's members and took a few picture of them.

On May 7, Ji-Elle met an archeozoologist from the CNRS who installed an osthéothèque (a bone collection) at the Musée zoologique of Strasbourg. The purpose of the meeting was to push the collaboration with this rich museum forward, enhancing the Toulouse Muséum experience. Discussion are to continue till June 7 at the Maison interuniversitaire des sciences de l'homme - Alsace, during the Archeology Days.

On May 13, Ji-Elle met a Protestant minister from Strasbourg in order to identify key resource people, such as historians, theologians and scholars liable to contribute to the Wikimedia projects, within the Protestant community.

On May 13, an official of the Strasbourg collection of engravings and drawings announced that the city museums direction had given a favorable opinion on uploading pictures taken by museums.

On May 16, Claude attended the Gutenberg lectures in order to take a picture of Guillaume Pepy.

On May 17, Claude was invited to a rehearsal of Les Percussions de Strasbourg band.

On May 18, Claude attended the funeral of former minister André Bord at the Notre-Dame cathedral of Strasbourg.

On May 21, Claude met Bishop Vincent Dollmann, auxiliary bishop of Strasbourg, in charge of communication for Strasbourg diocese. Thanks to this meeting, he had the occasion to present the organization's aims to him and got an accreditation for every important ceremony to take place at the Cathedral, including the priestly ordinations of June 9.

On the same day, Claude attended a discussion organized by members of the European Parliament at Strasbourg European Parliament.

On May 22, the curator of the Musée alsacien announced the creation of a taskforce in charge of writing the convention project, which is to be presented to the representatives.

On May 23, Professor Jean Malaurie was handed over Strasbourg medal of honor. He publicly told Claude, who was taking pictures, that he edited Wikipeda a few times.

On May 30, Claude attended the press presentation of two Roman wall paintings from the 2nd century. These were discovered during the rescue excavations on the place du Château in Strasbourg and are now exhibited at the city archaeological museum.

Toulouse

On May 26, the Toulouse 'cabal' — who has a new member — held a stand at the Forom des Langues (Language Forum). They presented the Wikimédia France projects related to languages to the wider public and met many cultural and diaspora organizations. They also took the occasion to be interviewed on Radio FMR and to take pictures of dance displays from various countries and cultures.

Lyon

In early May, a meeting took place between the representatives of the musée des beaux-arts de Lyon and some Wikipedia users: Nouill, Cedalyon, Ursus and Aga.

Three contribution training workshops took place at the Office villeurbannais des personnes agées et des retraités (office for elderly and retired people) (OVPAR) on May 7, 14, and 21, 2013. Ursus and Pom445 managed those workshops, together with Cedalyon on May 21. Nineteen people were trained during those three workshops.

On May 28, Aga presented Wikimédia France, l'ouverture de contenu et celle des données (Wikimedia France, opening content and data) within the Bibliothèques numériques (digital libraries) session of ENSSIB.

On June 1, some wikiphotographers attended the final of the France championship of field hockey.

An extraordinary information desk was held on May 18 at CCSTI - La Casemate for the European Night of Museums.

On May 22, the education working group of Wikimedia France discussed the current and future projects for the schoolyear 2013-2014.

On May 29 the award ceremony of the high school contest took place at the Cantine Numérique of Toulouse. The winning team of the high school contest wrote about Abdel Hafed Benotman, French author.

On May 31, Carol Ann and Nathalie tought at a training session for CLEMI (Centre de Liaison de l'Enseignement et des Médias d'Information) on the use of Wikipedia in class.

During the night of the museums, a digital week-end took place at the musée du quai Branly on May 18 and 19. Following contacts initiated in 2012 with the museum library, Wikimédia France organised a two days edit-a-thon on ethnography. During those two days, Wikimedians (some of them were not members of the association), curators and librarians worked together on new and existing Wikipedia pages. Around sixty articles were ceated or improved and the pictures on Wikimedia Commons were reorganized.

The 2012 Annual Report is being proofread. The final layout should be finished at the end of the first week of June.

Aymeric made a flyer for the partnership project between Wikimédia France and the town hall of the 2° arrondissement of Paris.

Research and university

On May 16, Carol Ann managed a training session on "Using Wikipedia with your students" with around ten university teachers, phD students and librarians.

On May 24, the working group research and university met remotely to discuss current projects and priorities for the 2013-2014 academic year.

On May 28, Carol Ann made a presentation during a seminar organized by the IRI (Institut de recherche et d'innovation du centre Pompidou) to explain Wikimedia France's actions.
