Wikimedia Wikimeet India 2021 is a 3-day online event organized by A2K that is going to be conducted during 19 - 21 February 2021. A2K has conducted several on-ground events earlier but this event is mainly being organized to explore 3 important areas.
These include coverage of topics such as a) Strategy 2030, Abstract Wikipedia, etc. b) exploring the online space/remote communication for skill-sharing in order to implement cost-effectiveness adding to the changes that the COVID-19 pandemic has brought into the Wiki world c) Use this event as a learning opportunity, document all the learnings during the course of the event and share it with the Wiki community for future reference.
This event will witness participants mainly from Indic Wikimedian communities along with a few others from south-east Asian communities. It most probably will include educational sessions on gadgets&tools, presentations, discussions, brainstorming sessions, networking, and most importantly, the celebration of major on-Wiki contributors who are the backbone of Wikimedia projects.
This event is still in its design stage and there are several opportunities for any Wikimedian to get involved in the process and take this event to the next level. Your ideas/inputs are most welcome. In order to do that, you can check the event meta page 'Wikimedia Wikimeet India 2021'. In the get involved section, there are several open tasks such as a)creating a logo for the event and submitting it. b)If you know or worked with hybrid or blended learning models, you can share your learning on the event discussion page or c) you can be a translator of the event updates like these for your community. or d) participate in the RFC discussion under the Request for Comments section in the meta page.
In order to receive regular updates about the event, you can subscribe to the event's newsletter by going to the newsletter section on the event page, or follow the CIS-A2K page on facebook. We are looking forward to seeing you take part in this process and working together! Many thanks and best wishes.
