Wikimedia Postal Service
Appearance
This idea is currently under development. Suggestions are welcome.
- The idea is simple: Having a possibility to deliver messages from one Wikimedia project to all others.
- Wikimedia Postal Service/Post -- for sending mails (for testing only for now!).
- Wikimedia Postal Service/Inbox -- the place where mails are coming.
- Wikimedia Postal Service/Messages -- name space for messages.
- Wikimedia Postal Service/Messages/Sent -- name space for sent messages.
- Wikimedia Postal Service/Messages/Sent/1 -- the first message sent from Meta.
- Wikimedia Postal Service/Messages/Received -- name space for received messages.
- Wikimedia Postal Service/Messages/Received/sr.wikinews.org -- name space for messages received from Wikinews in Serbian.
- Wikimedia Postal Service/Messages/Received/sr.wikinews.org/1 - the first message sent from Wikines in Serbian.
- Wikimedia Postal Service/News -- name space and place for news related to WPS usage (new projects opted in and similar)
- Wikimedia Postal Service/Configuration -- local configuration (there is no global configuration)
Syntax
[edit]Every message should look like:
== <subject of the message> == * From: <your name or the name of a person or a group which sends a message> * To: <to which project or a group of projects?; "Wikimedia broadcast" is a key word for sending to all [opted-in] Wikimedia projects> * Languages: <language(s) of the message> * Text: <Text of the message>
Description / ideas
[edit]- Postal service delivers mails a couple of times per day (let's say, four times: at 00, 06, 12 and 18).
- Every project has its ID (usually, URL; thus, Meta's id will be meta.wikimedia.org).
