Hello,
based on our recent discussions, in response to inquiries of people who have been working hard for the project but not meet the voting eligibility based on edit counts, and with the approval of the Wikimedia Board of Trustees, the Election Committee hereby announces expansion of voting eligibility to people in one of these categories:

A) Sysadmin: System administrators will be granted voting elgibility on request, if they had shell access to the Wikimedia servers prior to March 1, 2007 and have put in more than 50 hours in total before June 1, 2007. To request for granting vote, they should entry their name on a dedicated page on meta, MetaWikiPedia:Board elections/2007/Voting eligibility expansion.

B) Office staff: Staff who are working at the office of Wikimedia Foundation will be granted voting eligibility, if they worked for the Wikimedia Foundation in this manner prior to March 1, 2007. To request for granting vote, they should entry their name on a dedicated page on meta, MetaWikiPedia:Board elections/2007/Voting eligibility expansion.

C) Board of Trustees: All current Trustees (either elected or appointed) sitting on the Board of Trustees are defined to be eligible to vote.

While in our estimation, total people who fall into these categories are less than 10, we hope this will give the opportunity to vote to these members of the broader community.
