Wikimedia Foundation/Communications/Movement Communications/Meta-Wiki presence
Hello! This is the project page for the Movement Communications team's work towards improving the Wikimedia Foundation's presence on Meta-Wiki.
The project
[edit]In 2021, the Movement Communications team conducted research to understand how the Foundation can improve its communications with the movement, and better support communities in accessing its information and resources.
One of the six recommendations identified by this research was to build a better front door (BFD). In line with this, we are working towards a clearer and more accessible structure of Wikimedia Foundation pages and points of contact, based around our Meta-Wiki content.
The Foundation's pages on Meta-Wiki will become an organized, welcoming "front door" where volunteers from every community can find the information they need. This means highlighting avenues of Foundation support and resources, the work of Foundation teams and departments, news and announcements, and even just the basic information that historically has been not easily available.
Once implemented, Movement Communications will work with all teams across the Foundation to maintain these Wikimedia Foundation pages on an ongoing basis.
The plan
