What is the problem you're trying to solve?

Le projet Noircir Wikipédia œuvre afin qu'il y ait d'avantage de contribut.eur.ice.s africain.e.s et afrodescendant.e.s sur les projet wikimédiens, des articles de qualité sur les personnalités et l'Histoire d'Afrique, afrodescendantes et des diasporas, ainsi que les concepts et les théories décoloniaux.

Translation: Noircir Wikipedia aims at inciting more Afrodescendant contributors on Wikimedia projects, at creating more quality articles on the people and history of Africa, of Afro-descendent origine, and of the African diaspora, and on decolonial concepts and theories.

What is your solution to this problem (please explain the context and the solution)?

Noircir Wikipédia crée des articles, en améliore, apporte des sources et tente d'éradiquer les tournures et rédactions racistes existantes.

Translation: Noircir Wikipedia creates and improves articles, adds references, and tries to remove racist turns of phrases in existing articles.

Project goals

En ce début d'année 2021, Noircir Wikipédia souhaite continuer ses séances hebdomadaire de suivis des articles du projet. Nous avons commencé le 7 novembre avec un soir par semaine, les mardis entre 20h et 22h30 (souvent 23h) avec les objectifs suivants:

• évaluer tous les articles du projet encore sans indication d'avancement et/ou d'importance,
• passer l'article fr:Black Panther Party de l'avancement "B" au "A". Nous poursuivrons cet objectif.
• améliorer les articles ébauche du projet. Nous poursuivrons cet objectif.
• continuer "Noircir Wikipédia au Bénin"

Translation:

At the start of 2021, Noircir Wikipedia aims at continuing their [fr:Projet:Noircir_Wikipédia/Séances_hebdomadaires_de_suivi_du_projet|weekly sessions]] in which we monitor the project's articles. We started meeting weekly since Nov. 7th, 2020, on Tuesdays from 20h to 22h30 (often 23h), with the following objectives:

• evaluating the project's articles still lacking an evaluation in terms of quality and/or importance
• improving the article on the fr:Black Panther Party so that it goes from "B" to "A" - an ongoing task
• completing the articles of the projects that are stubs - an ongoing task
• continuing our collaboration with Benin on "Noircir Wikipédia au Bénin"

Nous aurons atteint nos buts si :

• L'article fr:Black Panther Party passe de "B" à "A" quant à son évaluation
• 2 contribut.eur.ice.s se joignent à la séance, en plus des organisatrices
• Trois articles sortent de la catégorie ébauche, notamment par l'ajout de contenu et de sources
• Nous continuons nos rencontres mensuelles de suivi et de conseil à "Noircir Wikipédia Bénin"

Translation: Our goals will be achieved if:

• The evaluation of the article fr:Black Panther Party progresses from "B" to "A"
• 2 contributors come to the meetings, besides the organizers.
• Three progress beyond the stub category, by adding content and sources
• We continue our monthly meetings to monitor and advice "Noircir Wikipédia Bénin"'s progress

Do you have any goals or metrics around participation or content?

Sur les 9 semaines que couvre notre demande :

• Nous listerons les articles améliorés et évalués lors des séances de suivi dans un espace dédié sur notre page projet
• Nous allons faire progresser 3 articles du projet en les faisant progresser de catégorie (d'"ébauche" à "bon début", par exemple)
• Nous allons évaluer en termes d'importance et de qualité tous les nouveaux articles du projet
• Nous allons effectuer une rencontre de conseil et de suivi avec "Noircir Wikipédia Bénin"

Translation : During the 9 weeks covered by our request:

• We will list the articles evaluated and improved during our weekly meetings in a dedicated space on our project page
• We will improve 3 articles of the project, making them change to the next higher category in termes of quality (from "stub" to "start")
• We will evaluate all the new articles of the project in terms of importance or quality
• We will meet at least ounce to advise and monitor the progress of "Noircir Wikipedia Benin"

Translation : Weekly meeting Noircir Wikipédia from Tuesday January 19th, 2021, to Tuesday March 16th, 2021 (included).

• Internet du projet: 120 x 3 mois = 360.-chf
• Repas organisatrices: 25 x 2 = 50.-chf x 9 semaines = 450.-chf
• Baby-sitting: 18 x 3 = 54.-chf x 9 semaines = 486.-chf
• Livres-sources: 300.-chf
• Total : 1596.-

Translation:

• Internet connection for the project and to run Zoom coordination on project meetings: 120 x 3 months = 360.-
• Supper organizers : 25 x 2 x 9 weeks = 450.-
• Baby-sitting : 18.- x 3 hours x 9 weeks = 486.-
• Reference books : 300.-
• Total : 1596.-

Community engagement

Communications via la page de discussion du projet Noircir Wikipédia, ainsi que sur les pages de discussion des participant.e.s, sur le site web noircirwikipedia.org le Facebook et l'Instagram du projet Noircir Wikipédia.

Habituellement, les séances hebdomadaires impliquent 4 à 5 Wikipédien·ne·s, en comptant les organisatrices.

Translation:We will invite the community to participate via our project's discussion page, as well as via the participants talk page. We will also notify our readers by our website noircirwikipedia.org, our facebook, and instagram pages.

Usually, the weekly meetings gather 4 or 5 Wikipedians, including organizers.

Renewal

Noircir Wikipédia requests to pursue this grant for weekly sessions April 13th-June 15th included, ie, for ten more weeks.

Budget is as follows:

• Internet connection for the project and to run Zoom coordination on project meetings: 120 x 3 months = 360.-
• Supper organizers : 25 x 2 x 10 weeks = 500.-
• Baby-sitting : 18.- x 3 hours x 10 weeks = 540.-
• Reference books : 300.-
• Photocopies: 25.-
• Total : CHF 1725

First request (Jan-March) and renewal (April-June) accepted by Wikimedia CH.
