Abstract (up to 100 words)

For several years Wikipedia training has been one of the most powerful tools of enlarging Wikimedia Community with people of different professions, age, gender, race from different parts of Armenia interested in modern methods of education and process of editing online encyclopedia. The purpose of this discussion is to share our experience of teaching Wikipedia and teaching with Wikipedia. Professional Wikitrainers are involved in the process of teaching. Teachers use this method of education in daily class routine, students do their university internship with us, organisations collaborate with us and organize trainings for their staff followed by thematic competitions.

How will this session be beneficial for the communities in the region of Central and Eastern Europe?

The Wikimedia community will benefit from our proposal greatly by gaining knowledge and information about our experience of implementing the teaching process of Wikipedia, the opportunities, obstacles, and challenges that we faced during the process. The impact of the proposal will be twofold - it will help Wikimedia Armenia to receive feedback on our teaching process and to improve our organizational procedures.
