| Abstract:
For the first time in Romania, a Wikimedian in Residence shared the knowledge of the host institution and provided the best available information from the most authoritative sources. I was assigned this project and it was my greatest joy to share my Wikimedia skills and to encourage other new editors by showing them the huge ammount of possibilities they could have. I left my confort place and went to a totally different part of the country, another city, new colleagues, unknown events, but it was really worth it. Five days dedicated to documenting the most relevant themes, organizations and historical figures of the county library, in a collaborative environment, as building knowledge step by step. Also we extended the project to a unique institution in our country, affiliate to the library, The Museum of Romanian Exile, where it is preserved the cultural heritage of Romanian literature, art and science, as I shall further detail on my slide presentation. |

| How will this session be beneficial for the communities in the region of CEE?
When we say Wikimedian in Residence we mean the professional role in communications for an organization to share its knowledge within the Wikimedia platform, measure the impact of the same, and promote Wikipedia through training, education, and edit-a-thons. In the same way that organizations such as universities, nonprofit organizations, NGOs, research institutes, libraries, and museums may post information to their websites and social media, these organizations may also promote the integration of their expertise in Wikipedia, Wikidata, and the Wikimedia platform. | |||
