| Abstract:
Preserving the national memory of the Tatar people and the peoples inhabiting Tatarstan, through Wikipedia in general and Wikimedia Commons in particular, is of great importance for the whole world, as I believe. Since many objects of cultural and historical heritage are disappearing and/or may disappear, while being reconstructed, and the only way to somehow preserve them in the memory of our descendants and contemporaries is precisely to capture these objects using photography. And these same photographs are subsequently uploaded to Wikimedia Commons and used in Wikipedia articles. |

| How will this session be beneficial for the communities in the region of CEE?
I have already uploaded more than 40 thousand photographs of various objects, rituals and practices of the cultural, historical, architectural heritage of the peoples of Tatarstan, various districts, cities and villages of the republic. I would like to introduce the community to my rather planned work to popularize Tatarstan on Wikipedia. | |||
