| Abstract:
In this presentation we’ll present the results of our research project focused on exploring new editors’ motivation and retention on Wikipedia, bearing in mind the difficult task of getting familiar with technical aspects, finding their place within the community, and learning the specific rules and norms. The project started in 2023 and finished in 2024 and it’s really convenient to be in the program, because it was announced during the CEE Meeting 2023 and now we can create a retrospective and see the outputs. Beside that, the project was financed from the Research Fund, so we can introduce participants with it and show them how they can initiate their own ideas. |

| How will this session be beneficial for the communities in the region of CEE?
Participants will be introduced to the possibility of applying for the Research Funds (or some other available funds), they can compare results from their wikis (if they have some) and we can have productive Q&A session regarding motivational factors, methods that we used and guidelines as results of the research. | |||
