| Abstract:
Informal User Groups are an easy way for smaller Wikimedia communities to get organized. A formally recognized in-country organization however provides clear benefits to get funded by the Wikimedia Foundation and operate in many countries. Fiscal sponsorship is a way to get the benefits of a formal organization while benefiting from the simplicity of the informal User Group. This is the experience of Wikimedians of Albanian Language User Group with fiscal sponsorship: how we run the User Group, our relation with the fiscal sponsor organization, cross-jurisdictional experience and how we got here. |
