Abstract:
The presentation details an on-going project that uses Wikibase as a data integration tool among public heritage organisations and private rights management organisations. We are inspired by the Luxembourg Shared Authority File project, but working with GDPR-protected private data necessitates novel technical and organisational solutions. The project is piloted in Slovakia and its music-focused database held by the Music Centre, and the rights-management organisation, SOZA. We set up an independent, stand-alone Wikibase multi-instance to curate and coordinate the data. As a next step, we will integrate Wikidata with Wikipedia(s). A Wikimedian-in-residence position is envisioned as part of the project. |
