Abstract:

I would hold this lesson in collaboration with my colleague Milica Buha
The lesson would introduce all photography devices and accessories (lenses, flashes, tripods). The proper use of that equipment would be presented below. I would additionally explain the correct use of different lenses and lens filters, as well as mobile phone photography. As far as photography techniques are concerned, I would explain photo framing, light and color ratio.
In the following, my colleague Milica Buha will show how to upload photos to Commons so that they are searchable and useful (properly named, described and categorized).

Slides: The presentation will be delivered later
Level of advancement: medium
Special requirements: Along with the presentation, we would bring 15 photos of Belgrade, which would be a gift-exhibition at the event. For that, some space should be provided where the exhibition would be placed. Photos are 30 x 40 cm format, laminated on a hard surface. All photos would be previously uploaded to Commons, in the public domain.
How will this session be beneficial for the communities in the region of CEE?

In the first place, the lesson would help to find a larger selection of quality photos in the public domain on Commons. It would encourage users who don't have cameras to take quality pictures with their mobile phones and thus preserve important events in their communities. And finally, explaining why it's important to properly name, describe, and categorize each photo would reduce the clutter on Commons, which has been talked about a lot in the past year.
