Summary

[edit]

If there is enough interest and about 2 h in the schedule I can do a basic introduction into Pywikibot. It can be used to edit Wikidata and all other Wikis. Participants need only a little bit of programming experience. The exercises will be done using http://paws.wmflabs.org, so only a laptop with internet is required.

Expected outcomes

[edit]

Everyone will reach some results and will be very impressed how easy it is to work with Pywikibot. After the session it will be easier to ask questions online to further improve bots running on the different WMF projects.

Duration (without Q&A)

[edit]

2 h would be good. 3 if possible.

Specific requirements

[edit]

Participants: A laptop with internet connection. We will not need any special software. Just a browser. Presenter: A beamer would be good that has a HDMI connection.

Slides or further information

[edit]

We will work with this tutorial I am writing: d:Wikidata:Pywikibot - Python 3 Tutorial. This is also where we will have online follow ups to the course.

Interested attendees (Please add yourself, and you may indicate your questions to the presenter).
